About the FCS

Fantasy leagues are easy to create. It takes minutes to set one up online. From there, plug in some friends, maybe even some friends of friends if need be, set a draft date, and you're good to go. Those leagues only look at themselves a year at a time, though. What if you were a part of a league that was always looking 5 years ahead? 10? 20? That league is this league.

The Fantasy Championship Series is a league that puts you completely in control of a franchise, not just a group of players. You have a city to call your own, a team designed for the fan base to rally behind, and a specific set of Nike on-field uniforms to set you apart from the pack. A true identity distinguishes each team from the others and allows a sense of pride to season into every owner's grasp.

So how did an idea like this come about? Well, it's been stewing in our minds for some time. Years in fact. We had had this idea sitting in the back of our brains for quite awhile before anything actually took shape. With a plethora of fantasy football leagues bringing us to where we stand today, we both saw a lot of things we didn't like. Sharing a fantasy league with people meant basically creating a community of friends that you want to have a sense of comradery with year in and year out. We want to propel that into something that lasts and brings like-minded people together for a common goal. A second aspect that we wanted to take advantage of was our love for design. Why not create a league that is focused around team individuality that brings in a heavy sense of pride for you as an owner? Basically we wanted to put the fantasy in fantasy football. We want you to get caught up in the idea that Cam Newton plays for your team and is loyal to your franchise. Having your team name be "Le’Veon a Prayer" or "Julio Let the Dogs Out" is fun, but it's also cliche. We wanted to ditch giving your team a name and instead give them an identity.

Sorry to break it to you, but you weren't in the picture when we first started crafting this dream. We envisioned the owners of this fantasy football league to all be designers. Each owner would create a team name and location and then brand themselves. But then we got to thinking, what would be more fun in the long run: a league with passionate designers who don't know an extensive amount about football, or a league with passionate sports fans who don't know an extensive amount about design? The latter won out. It also gave the two of us a chance to stretch our creative muscles and brand a twelve-team league in 8 months, which was embraced with open arms. When we knew the kind of people we wanted in our league, fun, Jesus-loving football geeks, we approached you all, and began construction on making this thing a reality.

Right around the first of the year in 2016, we brought the idea up again and decided this was as good a time as any to make this thing a happen. A stupid amount of league names were presented before we eventually landed on the Fantasy Championship Series. From there, the logo began to take shape and we started putting together rules and regulations for the FCS. After all of that was hashed out, it was time to start focusing on who we wanted in our league. Once those 10 people were decided upon, we waited for acceptance and for you to give us your desired team name and location so we could get started molding your franchise. To be honest, we didn't really know how much work we had just gotten ourselves into. Creating twelve team identities from scratch in 8 months? Most design firms take 2 years to rebrand one team in the professional realm. but we embraced the challenge and stand here today victorious. It was a lot of work to make this happen, but we wouldn't have had it any other way.

From here, the bulk of the work is done! Now comes the fun. We will continue to release more awesome stuff for you guys as the years go on. We have thoroughly enjoyed creating all of this material for our fellow owners, and can guarantee it will only get better from here. If you ever have any ideas for something we could do to make the league more fun or more involved, just let us know! We love any feedback we can get. We are both overjoyed to see our small idea transform into where it is now, and can't wait to see where the FCS goes over the years with you guys at our side.
