30 Big Ones
Another year, another 30 Big Ones. I’m back for redemption after a rough one last year. I’ll admit, this year is a tough one to be bold with. We have a clear front runner for the title, a weak rookie class, and the West still appears greater than the East. I had to dig deep for boldness and settle for some not so bold ones.
On the other hand, I am on guard. Nothing is as stable as it seems in this league. I can tell you I was not bold enough to say the Javies don’t get it done, or a rookie becomes a phenom, or the East outpaces the West. However, my inner Skip Bayless really wanted me to.
For those that are not familiar with 30 Big Ones, this is me throwing poop against a wall to see what sticks. I get to take credit when these things happen, and I accept no responsibility when they do not happen.
Reno Revolution- A balanced attack helps make the Cutthroats the surprise team for the 2026 season en route to a wildcard bid.
CMC You Later- Father time officially claims Kentucky’s McCaffrey as continued injuries and 49ers struggles leads to a frustrating year.
Whack WRs- The Caps Antonio Williams finishes as the top scoring rookie WR.
Jets Take Off- The surprise NFL teams prove to be the Jets as the Anarchy’s Garrett Wilson finishes as a top 5 WR.
Watermelon Sweep… Again- Tucson sweeps the series for the second straight year.
TE Revolution- The days of the elite TE strategy finally become obsolete as 7 TEs prove to be superstars.
Jettas Blues- Poor QB play leads to another letdown season and a trade demand before 2027.
Javies Take Punches- You know a team is great when it’s bold to say they will lose two games.
Homer for Hampton- My homer bold prediction is that Omarion Hampton thrives in the Chargers new offense en route to an RB1 finish.
FCS First- The Reno Revolution is led by overall TE1 Brock Bowers who becomes the first TE to win FCS MVP.
Big Easy Bullseye- The Rougarou narrowly miss the playoffs but find a franchise cornerstone in QB1 Trevor Lawrence.
ROY Anyone- The ROY race proves to be a difficult one as no one steps up. Love takes it home just on volume.
iCats- IceCats struggles leads to a shift in philosophy and Chris Webb picks up the iPhone and responds to all texts within two hours.
Big Easy Blake- Blake Corum overtakes Kyren Williams and becomes another keeper for the Rou.
Bootlegger Bootlickers- The team of felons takes too many bumps and bruises and finds themselves on the outside looking in for the playoffs.
Bi-gone Robinson- Bijan lives up to the hype but is traded by Tucson in a 2 for 1 deal as the need for depth becomes apparent.
Don’t Sleep on Pat- No, not Pat Mahomes. Kentucky’s Pat Bryant finishes as a top 20 WR and wins our Sleeper award.
Watson Explodes- Stop it, perverts. Not the Watson that likes massages. Christian Watson has a breakout year and finishes as a top 10 WR.
Goldies Fly South- NorCal struggles in the West and finishes last to secure top lottery odds for Portland.
Not So Fast- Goldies save face and also receive top lottery odds thanks to Twin City winning the consolation bracket.
Super Bowl Hangover- The Seahawks take a step back and miss the playoffs. JSN and Price struggle to meet fantasy expectations.
Don’t Matta- NorCal and Portland’s top odds are nice, but Big Easy’s dream rebuild continues as their top odds reign supreme as Leichner gets the rights to Jeremiah Smith.
Guns A-Blazin’- Nashville starts hot by winning five of their first six.
Guns A-Freezin’- Nashville’s start is washed away as they do their best Bronx Dominion impersonation and lose six of their last seven.
A Rivalry Ignited- DC takes care of business in the first matchup, but with the Eastern Conference title in reach for DC, Big Easy pulls off an upset to send the Anarchy to the wildcard round.
Poetic Justice- DC sweeps Charleston in the regular season, but Charleston wins the wildcard round.
Rematch- A rematch of VBIII takes center stage.
Bologna Bold- It’s not bold, but I have to make it one of my 30. The Javies stars shine too bright en route to a scoring title and repeat Victor Bowl.
Warrior Bold- let’s get the other not-so-bold take out of the way. The West wallops the East in the Warrior Bowl.
Eyes on the Prize- The 2027 rookie field lives up the hype as a 27 1RP turns into gold.
